Etisalat is a leading international telecom company operating in 15 countries around the world. Egypt is one of the countries where operation was launched in May 2007 as the first 3.5G operator. Etisalat's entry to the Egyptian market ushered in a new era for the telecom industry.
Etisalat Misr introduced for the first time to the market a host of 3.5G services, such as video calling, mobile TV, mobile broadband internet and data services. In a bolder step, 3.75G was introduced and assumed absolute market leadership in providing the fastest broadband internet in the market through USB modems and 3G mobile handsets. Etisalat's entry brought to the market an array of competitive and innovative rate plans that attracted one million subscribers in the first 50 days of operation. Thanks to the entry of Etisalat to the market, mobile users in Egypt now have wider options, higher service quality, more innovative services and better value for money.
Today, Etisalat Misr's 2G and 3G robust and high quality network covers and serves 99% of the population in Egypt. Moreover, Etisalat Misr is the first and the only operator in Egypt that has an exclusive international gateway and its customers enjoy competitive international rates to all destinations around the globe. In order to complete Etisalat Misr's product portfolio, two well-established ISPs (Internet Service Providers) were acquired and provide broadband services to customers while at home and while on the move.

PepsiCo was founded in 1965 through the merger of Pepsi-cola and Frito-Lay. Today, the company is a world leader in the snacks and beverages businesses, with revenues of about $35 billion, over 153, 000 employees and brands available in nearly 200 countries and territories.
PepsiCo entered Egypt in 1944. For 50 years, the bottling operation of carbonated soft drinks was fully owned by the government.
In 1994, the bottling operation was privatized and the Egyptian Bottling Company (EBC) became a private sector company.
In 1999, PepsiCo International (PI) acquired 82% of PBI (holding company). Through its holding company PBI, PI acquired 100% of the shares of EBC and assumed complete responsibility of the bottling operation, operating 6 factories.
In 2002, PI established its seventh factory in the 6th of October city under PBI. Today, Pepsi Cola Egypt has 7 plants: 3 mega plants in Nasr City, Tanta and 6th of October City and 4 others in Sohag, Menya, portsaid and Amreya (Alexandria). The company has 26 distribution centers, as well as a fleet of around 1,200 vehicles. As for the snacks business, Chipsy was originally established in 1986 under the name "Tasty Foods" with local ownership to be specialized in the manufacturing of salty snacks.
In 2001, PI acquired the company and changed its name to Chipsy International. That same year Chipsy international acquired another snacks manufacturer, Chipsy for food industries. CHIPSY produces and markets a portfolio of leading brands in macro snacks category: Chipsy, Lays, Crunchy, Action, Cheetos, Doritos and Samba.
